Who we are

What this covers

This policy applies to maxentstudios.com and to the games and apps we publish, including Doxie Defense: Squirrel Siege, Defuse Squad, Afterglow Space Program, MAX HOUSE and future titles (together, the "Services"). If a particular game needs a different or additional notice, we'll show it in that game or on its App Store page.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account details. Some games let you create an account with a username and password (for example, to save progress across devices or play online). Passwords are stored only in hashed form.
• Messages. If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Gameplay information

• Progress, settings, scores, ranks, medals, match results and similar game data linked to your account.
• In-game chat during online matches is delivered in real time to the other player. We don't store chat messages.

Device and technical information

• IP address, device and browser type, operating system, and basic logs from our hosting providers. We use IP addresses for security, rate limiting and preventing abuse.
• Crash and performance information that helps us fix problems.

Information stored on your device

Our web games save progress and settings in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device unless you sign in to an account that syncs it. Clearing your browser data deletes it. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies.

Purchases

If a game offers in-app purchases, payment is handled by the platform (for example, Apple's App Store). We receive a confirmation of the purchase so we can deliver it, but we never receive your card details.

Advertising

Some mobile games may show ads. Where they do, our advertising partners may collect information such as a device advertising identifier to show and measure ads. On iOS, we only allow tracking across apps and websites owned by other companies if you give permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Each app's App Store listing describes the data it collects.

How we use it

• To run the games: saving progress, matchmaking, leaderboards and online play.
• To keep things fair and safe: preventing cheating, fraud, spam and abuse.
• To answer your questions and provide support.
• To fix bugs and improve our games.
• To deliver purchases and, where a game includes them, ads.
• To comply with the law and enforce our Terms of Use.

How we share it

We don't sell your personal information. We share it only in these situations:

• Service providers that help us run the Services, such as our hosting provider (Vercel) and our database provider (Supabase). They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
• Platforms and partners you interact with through our games, such as Apple for purchases, or ad partners where a game shows ads.
• Other players see your username, rank and match results in online features like lobbies and leaderboards.
• Legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and security of our players, our company or others.
• Business transfers, if our company or games are involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.

Children

Some of our games, like Defuse Squad, are designed to be family friendly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country) without verifiable parental consent. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email us and we'll delete it.

How long we keep it

We keep account and gameplay data for as long as your account is active, and delete it when you ask us to or when it's no longer needed. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. We may keep some information longer when the law requires it.

Your choices and rights

• Access, correction and deletion. Email us with the game and your username and we'll help you access, correct or delete your data. We complete deletion requests within 30 days.
• Device settings. You can clear local saves in your browser and limit ad tracking in your device settings.
• Regional rights. Depending on where you live (for example, California, the EU or the UK), you may have additional rights, such as the right to know what we hold about you, to object to certain uses, or to data portability. We honor these requests for all players regardless of location, and we won't treat you differently for using them.

Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect your information, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and limited access to our systems. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.

We are based in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll change the effective date above, and for significant changes we'll give notice on this site or in our games.
